In the early hours of November 7th, 2025, the Newcastle and Maitland community lost a bright and beautiful soul, Aden Nankervis. Aden’s warmth, kindness, and infectious smile left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had an incredible ability to lift spirits, offer a listening ear, and bring joy even on the toughest days. His presence was unforgettable, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
The Nankervis family is facing an unimaginable loss, and during this time, the practicalities of life continue—funeral costs, bills, and daily responsibilities can feel overwhelming. To support them, we are coming together to help ease some of this financial burden. This will allow the family to spend precious time grieving, sharing memories, and honoring Aden without the immediate pressure of returning to work.
All funds raised will go directly to the Nankervis family to ensure Aden receives the farewell he deserves. Any remaining contributions will be donated to the Black Dog Institute, an organization Aden held dear, which continues vital work in mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Aden’s life is a powerful reminder that speaking up is a strength, not a weakness.
