It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Antonio “AJ” Jewell, a cherished member of the Clarke Central High School Class of 2022. AJ tragically passed away following a shooting incident in our Athens, Georgia community last night. This is an immeasurable loss for his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. AJ was more than just a student; he was a proud Gladiator whose dedication, passion, and energy shone brightly both in the classroom and on the athletic field.
As a student-athlete, he represented Clarke Central with heart, determination, and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on coaches, teammates, and peers alike. His vibrant spirit and genuine kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, creating memories that will endure far beyond his years. During this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his mother, Mrs. Latoya Jewell, and the entire Jewell family.
