
Arcadia, CA – Authorities have identified the man killed in a tragic crash Thursday morning in the Angeles National Forest as 29-year-old Mark Camberos, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The fatal accident occurred around 8 a.m. on Chantry Flat Road, near the Santa Anita Dam, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Temple Station reported. A county worker reportedly noticed a vehicle precariously hanging over the edge of a cliff before it plunged down the steep embankment toward the road leading to the dam.
Emergency responders, including the Sierra Madre Fire Department, arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Authorities said Camberos was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the car to leave the roadway. It remains unclear whether speed, mechanical failure, or other factors played a role in the incident. Officials are continuing to examine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
