Pedro Nettles, 33 of Cleveland Died In Maple Heights Home Invasion

Preston Spence, Richmond, VA Death - In Loving Memory

Authorities have identified the victim killed in a Maple Heights home invasion as 33-year-old Pedro Nettles of Cleveland, according to a statement released Thursday by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident occurred late Wednesday night, shortly before 10 p.m., when Maple Heights police received a distress call from a woman reporting that three masked men had forced their way into a residence and opened fire. The caller told dispatchers she had been shot in the hand during the attack.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an unresponsive man inside the home, later identified as Nettles. Both he and the injured woman had sustained gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel provided medical aid at the scene before transporting both victims to a nearby trauma center. Despite lifesaving efforts, Nettles was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The woman was treated for her injuries and is expected to recover. Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting stemmed from a home invasion robbery, though authorities have not disclosed whether anything was taken from the residence.

Detectives are reviewing evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for surveillance footage that may help identify the suspects. Maple Heights police are urging anyone with information about the suspects—described only as three males wearing masks—to come forward. Tips can be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers or directly to the Maple Heights Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the deadly home invasion. Pedro Nettles, 33 of Cleveland Died In Maple Heights Home Invasion
